As you may or may not know, I had been marketing products and equipment to the commercial printing industry for 24 years, and I made the decision to begin a new career. I was contemplating what would be the best career and I thought about how I could use my skills best to help others.
You see, in those 24 years, I learned how to consultant with my clients to gain a deeper, clearer understanding of their goals and the complexity of their problems. It was through that process that I was able to negotiate and coordinate viable solutions that fit within their budget. I know these three skills are something you may need.
So I was wondering where I could apply those skills. After thoughtful consideration I decided to bring these skills to the real estate business and joined RE/MAX Kelowna in 2005.
God knows we don't need any more real estate agents, but what we do need are real estate agents who have skills to negotiate complex transactions. I'm sure you would agree that in today's new-world a skilled negotiator and a person who can coordinate all of the details is worth every penny that you pay for them.
However, as a trusted advisor, I was able to participate in the dreams that my clients were trying to accomplish and as a result I've become very understanding of the emotions involved when dealing with a real estate transaction and the problems to head off so the ride is smooth.
